Amazing Krav Maga course!

I just started the Krav Maga course and I love it! The instructors are fantastic and the lessons are so engaging. I feel like I'm really learning effective self-defense techniques. I'm already planning my next course. I'll definitely be back for more!

Comprehensive Taekwondo experience

I signed up for the Taekwondo course and also ordered some sparring gear. The ordering process on the website was straightforward; I had no issues there. Delivery for the gear was pretty quick, about 4 days to my home in California. The support team answered a question I had about the live virtual classes promptly, within a few hours, which was nice. The video lessons are very well structured, breaking down complex moves into manageable steps. I've been following along, and the quality of instruction is high. The sparring gear felt durable and fit well. It's a great way to learn from home, and the curriculum is quite detailed. I just wish there were more advanced options for single techniques instead of full courses.

Good lessons, slow uniform ship

I got the Shotokan Karate digital curriculum and a martial arts uniform. The video lessons are great, really clear instruction. I appreciate the value for the annual membership. The uniform, though, took over a week to arrive. Not terrible, but a bit longer than I expected for a standard item. Overall a positive experience.

Reliable for BJJ and gear

This was my third purchase from GMAU, this time for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu course and a new rank belt. Like my previous orders for Taekwondo and some focus mitts, everything was consistent. The digital access was instant, and the belt arrived in standard shipping time, about 5 days. It's always a smooth process and the quality of the courses is consistently good. That's why I keep coming back.

Thinking of getting my kids into martial arts, but a local dojo is kinda pricey. Is GMAU good for kids? And do they have a family discount for like, two kids?

F Faith 2 months ago
They do have kids martial arts programs! And yes, there's definitely a family plan discount. Check their site for details.

My nephews use it for their karate lessons and love it. And yeah, the family discount helped a lot with multiple kids.

Are the GMAU certifications actually legit? Like, if I get a black belt, will it be recognized anywhere or is it just for show?

R Rachel 2 months ago
From my experience, yeah, they're recognized. I mean, it's not like every local dojo automatically accepts them without question, but it's a real certification.

My buddy got his BJJ blue belt through them and when he moved and joined a local gym, they totally accepted it. So I'd say yes.

Anyone know if you can use multiple promo codes when signing up for an annual membership? Trying to maximize savings here.

D David 2 months ago
Nah, usually only one promo code per order. Most sites are like that.

P Phil D. 2 months ago
I've never seen a place let you stack codes. The annual discount usually applies automatically though, so you might not even need a separate code depending on the deal.

How does GMAU compare to Black Belt at Home? I'm trying to decide between the two for Karate.

I Ivy 2 months ago
GMAU felt more structured to me, especially with the curriculum and testing. Black Belt at Home was a bit more 'do it yourself' in my experience.

I've tried both. GMAU instructors seemed more hands-on, even online. Black Belt at Home was okay, but I felt more connected with GMAU.

Hey everyone, thinking about signing up for the Taekwondo course. How long did it actually take you guys to get your black belt through GMAU? Just wondering what kind of commitment I'm looking at.

B Ben 2 months ago
It really depends on how much you train. I'd say maybe 3-5 years if you're consistent? Faster if you put in a ton of hours.

yeah, it's not a quick thing. I know someone who got theirs in like 4 years, but they were pretty much living and breathing it. It's not a shortcut.

I'm in the military, stationed overseas. Do they have any discounts for military members?

T Troy S. 2 months ago
Yes, they do have a military discount! You'll need to check their site for how to apply it, but it's definitely an option.

W Wendy Brooks 2 months ago
Confirmed, there's a military discount. Just look for it during the sign-up process, or you might need to email them to verify.

I'm looking to try out Krav Maga, but I'm not sure if it's for me. Do they offer any kind of trial or a way to try it before I commit to a full membership?

J Julia 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually have a free trial, I think it's like 7 days? You can check it out without paying.
2
F Faith R. 1 month ago
Yep, 7-day free trial is pretty standard. Just gotta remember to cancel if you don't wanna continue.
